The day of our longest train journey arrived, eight hours of challenges. Entering Switzerland, and therefore no longer having roaming rights, made us reflect and understand what it means to be, or not, part of the European Union. Communications are more complicated and much more expensive, which translates into a certain feeling of isolation, making travel within the territory more difficult. Nevertheless, that same train journey, which passed through parts of Switzerland, provided the opportunity to see enchanting natural, rural, and urban landscapes. The late arrival in Munich didn’t allow us to see much of the city. The nearly 9-hour journey between Italy, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany provided many lessons, including resilience, resourcefulness, team spirit, and mutual support. The journey continues.
