About

Together We Rise is an Erasmus+ DiscoverEU Inclusion Action project dedicated to creating equal opportunities for young people with fewer opportunities through transformative learning, intercultural travel, and community-based empowerment.

The project is coordinated by Agrupamento de Escolas Terras do Ave (Portugal) in collaboration with YUPI – Youth Union of People with Initiative, a local youth organization with strong experience in inclusion, volunteering, and youth participation.

Our Vision

We believe that all young people—regardless of their background, income, or social situation—deserve the chance to explore Europe, gain new skills, and grow into confident, active citizens. Together We Rise offers just that: a chance to learn, lead, connect, and dream bigger.

Who We Support

Our participants come from communities affected by economic hardship, limited access to education or culture, geographical isolation, or social exclusion. Many face daily challenges that often prevent them from accessing mobility opportunities or broader educational experiences.

Through this project, we remove those barriers by offering:

• Fully funded travel and accommodation
• Mentorship and ongoing support
• Inclusive, engaging, and hands-on learning activities
• Cultural exchange experiences that broaden horizons

Our Objectives

Together We Rise aims to:

1. Empower young people with fewer opportunities
   Equip participants with leadership, entrepreneurship, and life skills that enable them to become confident changemakers in their communities.
2. Promote social inclusion and participation
   Foster teamwork, solidarity, and mutual understanding through group activities, mentorship, and inclusive travel experiences.
3. Develop digital and vocational skills
   Provide training in digital literacy, communication, and professional skills to support employability and lifelong learning.
4. Encourage intercultural learning and European identity
   Promote diversity, respect, and cultural awareness through travel across Europe and meaningful exchange with people from different backgrounds.
5. Support sustainable practices
   Introduce young people to green travel and environmentally conscious decision-making, helping them act as responsible citizens.
